The U.S. System Primary school varies by state/school but is typically 6 years (ages 6-12) Middle and junior high schools also vary but lead to high schools which culminate in 12 years of primary & secondary schooling from ages 6-18, leads to high school diploma What about the GED? Examples: China, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan

The British System Primary school is 6 years (ages 5-11) Secondary school is 5 years (ages 11-16), leads to GCSE Sixth Form is 2 years (ages 16-18), leads to A/AS levels, grants access to higher education and some college credit Examples: Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe

The French System Primary school is 6 years (ages 5-11) Secondary (lower & upper) is 7 years (ages and 15-18), leads to Baccalauréat général (variations for vocational and professional secondary) Examples: Benin, Cameroon, Canada (Quebec), Morocco, Togo

The Russian System Primary school is 4 years (ages 6-9) Basic school is 5 years (ages 10-14) Secondary school is 2 years (ages ), leading to Attestat o Srednem (Polnom) Obshchem Obrazovanii (Certificate of Secondary Complete General Education) Examples: Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Poland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan
