Specialist communication channel. Sarah-Jane king

Definition of specialist communication channel Using communication channels are cheap and reliable, most people can use types of communication such as blogs, twitter, wiki to send and exchange information. You can easily collaborate and interact with each other online and work together, there is a difference between this and web 1.0 which is the first stage of the internet such as research.

list reasons why people may use specialist communication channels. Talk to friends and family. Gaming to learn new things.

Client 1 The specialist communication channel I have recommend for Julie is skype because she can video chat with her family who has recently moved to Australia. Skype What is Skype? Skype is a software that enables you to make free calls anywhere in the world. Skype uses P2P (peer to peer) technology to connect you with other users. It offers several features, including SkypeOut calling from Skype to regular and mobile phones worldwide, conference calling, and secure file transferring. You can also now share your screen with other users. Skype calls focus on video and audio quality, and secure the calls with end-to- end encryption. What’s new in this version: Bug fixes. Stability improvements. Spell checking and audio- correction for Windows 8/8.1. How to install Skype To install Skype, you need to download the latest version from the Skype website. Do not download Skype from anywhere else. If you are having problems downloading skype? The Skype install file is about 1MB in size. When you run the install file, the installer will download the Skype application(about 20MB) in the background. If your internet connection drops while this is happening, the installer will resume the download as soon as connectivity is restored. If you do not wish to use the light installer, download the full installer( around 24MB). How to use Skype? Before you get started, you'll need to make sure that you have everything required to Skype. First, how do you plan to use the service? If you want to Skype using your PC or MAC desktop or laptop computer, your machine will need the latest version of its Operating system: Windows, Linux or Mac OS. You can also use Skype on your mobile phone or sometimes even on your TV, depending on the model. Apple products like iphones, ipads and itouches all have the ability to run Skype. Some mobile phones running Android, as well as some models offered by Verizon wireless (including Blackberrys,Android smart phones and other 3G phones), can run a special program called Skype mobile. You’ll need to check your phone using the list on Skype.com, as well as with your provider, to find out for sure. Take a look at the list of Panasonic plasma and Samsung LED TVs on the website as well. If you want to make voice calls with Skype, you’re set. However, if your computer doesn’t have a build-in webcam, that’s next on the list. You can get inexpensive models, but the more you spend, the better your video quality will be. If you’re going to Skype using your TV, you’ll need to buy a special webcam compatible with it. Most webcams have audio, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Finally, an internet connection is a must (unless you’re using your phone), and dial-up users need not apply- it must be high-speed. If you want to make calls to someone without Skype, it’s necessary to set up a Skype Credit account using a credit card or PayPal.

Software and hardware Hardware needed to use Skype. A webcam A microphone processor A computer device IPod, IPhone,iPad,iPad count as well as laptops) A Skype account A microphone (most webcams have them built in) An internet connection And someone to answer your call. Software needed to use Skype. You will need to install something called Skype software.

How do I use Skype safely Step by step 1.Don’t post personal information in your Skype profile(e.g. address, birthday, phone numbers, location or full name) 2.Never reply to any instant messages or contact, phone call, video call or screen share requests from someone you don’t know. 3.Never access a file from someone you don’t know, including attachments. 4.Choose a strong password for your Skype account. Hackers try lists of common passwords and password variations to crack passwords. 5.Keep an eye out for any s posting as Skype and notifying you of available security updates. Skype will prompt users to install updates through a popup dialog box, not through an . 6.Never reply to requests for private data( e.g. Financial details, login, and password that are sent through , embedded links in s or chats). 7.Never reply to s that incite urgency and provoke impulsive actions. Skype warns against s stating" unless you click this link your Skype account will be disabled” or “your account has be comprised, click here to view details”. 8.Run an up-to date antivirus program in the background and always scan any received files from both contacts and strangers. 9.Know skype rule on age. By default, skype restricts the privacy settings of users under 16 years old to ensure maximum protection. 10.Never click on a link within a Skype message whether chat or unless you have: checked to ensure that the URL is a legitimate site or verified the identity of the sender of the message. 11.Consider using a parental control tool like Skypito to manage who your kids communicate with. Skypito requires parents to approve all of their child’s Skype contacts, and allows them to restrict calls and chats with strangers.
