A- United States has the largest column because is has the largest population. Also people make good living so we can afford internet and technology. We also have a lot of cell phone users which uses the internet. Q- What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount? A- Madagascar has the smallest column because it has a smaller population, it is very poor, and is developing. People in Madagascar don’t make a good living at all so a lot of people can’t afford it. Q- Look at the 5 th and 6 th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. A- Switzerland and Ireland are the 5 th and 6 th ranked countries. Both countries are already developed. I think that they Switzerland was ranked 5 th because it has a very fairly low population. Ireland is 6 th ranked because it has a low population, it doesn't have many mobile cell phones and has some but not a ton of internet host which is a computer directly connected to the internet. Q- Look at the 7 th and 8 th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. A- Yemen is 7 th ranked and Haiti is 8 th ranked. Both countries are developing. Both countries could get a higher population by advertising so more people will visit. Once the population and tourism goes up the economy will hopefully thrive. When the economy is stable people will get paid more and will be able to afford internet and technology. Q- Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption. A- The Philippines stands out to me because it has such a large population but not many internet users. The Philippines is a country around southeast Asia. It has a tropical climate and the people are poor earning only $4,100 a year. It doesn’t have much impact on the world because it is a small place and doesn’t consume much.

Oil is used for gasoline and ton a people own cars which we use to drive to and from places which is another reason our oil consumption is so high. Q-What country has the smallest/lowest? Philippines is ranked 5 th because it has a large population so people don’t use as much oil for transportation because the country’s area is small so they take a bus or hitchhike. Switzerland is ranked 6 th because it has a small population so people use less oil to heat their houses and for transportation. Q- Look at the 7 th and 8 th ranked countries. Then the economy should go up as well as population. Now they should build cars so that people use them for transportation because when people use cars they use oil for gasoline. A- Switzerland stands out to me because it is a developed country but its population isn’t very high. Switzerland is a country in Europe. It’s climate is basically cold and rainy winters and humid summers. The people make a good $44,500 a year. Australia is the 6 th biggest country in the world. It has a arid climate. Though it is very big it does not have a large population. Therefore it doesn’t consume much.
