Length Inches (in) 12 inches=1 foot (not your actual foot) – You use inches to measure small objects.
Length Feet (ft) and Yards (yd) 3 feet=1 yard – Feet are used to describe height and distance. – Yards are used to describe distance.
Length Miles (mi) 5,280 feet=1 mile – Longer distances (Think travel!) are measured in miles.

Weight Ounce (oz) Weight is used to measure how heavy an object is.

Weight Ton (T) A unit of weight equal to 2,000 pounds The average weight of an adult African Elephant is 4.6 Tons.
Capacity –the maximum amount or number that can be received or contained; cubic contents; volume
Capacity Cup (c) a unit of capacity or volume equal to 16 tablespoons or 8 fluid ounces (237 milliliters)
Capacity Pint (pt) A unit of volume or capacity in the U.S. Customary System, used in liquid measure, equal to 1 / 8 gallon or 16 ounces (0.473 liter).
