FIND A STRANGER, SAY GOODBYE BY LOIS LOWARY

( נוגע ללב) ( توقعات) Introduction: I choose this story because I like the cover of it, it seems romantic and dramatic at the same time, as well as the title make it seems more stranger and interesting. I found out that my expectations were correct and the story was much more exciting, realistic and touched the heart.

A standard language to understand, and Lois Lowry (the writer) had been make the characters so human and believable which helps us (the readers) to understand and to feel the events from the context very well. Furthermore, this novel contains several important recommendations for life, like adoption, identity, and family relationships.

The summary: Natalie Armstrong had everything: Beauty and intelligence, an early acceptance at college, a great boy friend, and a wonderful, loving family. But this summer when she turned seventeen, Natalie decided to ask that one unanswered question, “Who is my real mother?”

To find her biological mother, Natalie begins a journey which she hopes will lead the way to answer all her questions about her biological parents and the circumstances of her birth. Natalie's parents, the Armstrong's, are not very happy about Natalie's decision and they cannot understand it, but nevertheless they try to support everything Natalie does.

Her adoptive parents, as a graduation present, give her the resources (money, a car) to help her find out her identity. She follows up all the clues she can, discovering that she was born to an unmarried 15-year-old whose boyfriend died soon after. After a long journey, Natalie really finds her biological mother, but their meeting is different from the one in Natalie's imagination...it was much less with profound effects.

The main characters: 1. Natalie Armstrong Natalie Armstrong, a seventeen- year-old girl who was adopted when she was 5 days old. Although Natalie has a loving family, she wants to know something about her real mother.

2. Dr. Alden Armstrong and Mrs. Kay Armstrong Natalie's parents, the Armstrong's, a loving couple who give their daughter the chance to go and look for her parents while they are not really understanding why she must do this. Mrs. Armstrong she is an artistic. Mr. Armstrong he is a very dedicated doctor.

3. Nancy Armstrong, her 16-year-old sister by adoption with whom she gets on very well. 4. Tallie Chandler, Mrs. Armstrong's artist mother who is full of practical wisdom and art. 5. Paul, Natalie's boyfriend, who does not really understand her goal but who remains faithful to her;

6. the Doctor- Dr. Therrian: who delivered her, he told Natalie the name of her real mother, and she found out that dr. Therrian was also her grandfather (her father’s dad) from her mother. 7. Julie Jeffries- Hutchinson: her biological mother, whom became a successful model and a mother for tow more kids ( Gareth and Cameron).

The setting: 1. Maine- Armstrong’s family city. 2. Simmon’s Mills- a small town where’s Natalie had born. 3. New York- Natalie and Julie meet there.

The moral or the theme: This book has one major theme, and that is a description of the desire to know from where we come. A person who wasn’t adopted has a hard time understanding why an adopted child would want to find their real parents and learn about who they really are.

Julie’s diary :) When Julie and Natalie had been meet, Julie gave Natalie her teens diary which include the whole events and the circumstances of Natalie’s birth. I want to add one more page to this diary.

August 29tb. I feel strange!!! I had been meet my daughter two hours ago, many things have changed since her birth…I couldn’t believe that this day may come ever!! And I don’t prepare for it.. I feel so bad and so empty to find a “stranger” who is a very dear person and say him goodbye without told them how much you still loves them… (سرعان ما )

Another ending : I would prefer that Julie and Natalie become a friends such as Natalie imagine.. Moreover, I believe that if Julie is still a good person and the fame hasn’t changed her, she would have emotional pain and kindness.
