DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM
Review Before we get started we're going to do a quick review. We will also discuss call numbers and what they look like.
What is a call number? A call number is a group of numbers and/or letters put together to tell you where in the library to find your book.
What does a NONFICTION call number look like? The call number that we use for nonfiction books and that is the Dewey Decimal Number. A Dewey call number always has three numbers to the left of the decimal

500 Natural Science This means the 500's are unchanged science, things as they are found in nature. 523-The Universe Volcanoes,Earthquakes Reptiles
600 Applied Science The 600's are inventions and technology,and how man uses nature. 611-Human Body –Cars –Space Travel 636-Pets Child care
700 Fine Arts, Sports 741—Drawing 780—Music —Games 796—Sports Football

900 Geography, History The 910's are Geography. The 930's-999's are History –Personal Names (baby names) Holocaust —WW2
