Presentation transcript:

Mr. Verlin South Philadelphia High School March 29, 2011

Preliminaries  Pre-class (20 classwork points): over the weekend, I tried to install PCLinuxOS on my computer. The installation was successful but after, I was unable to boot into Windows Vista. I restored the latest backup I had but Vista still would not boot. I’ve done some searching online and read that the master boot record is damaged. Do a Google search on the following questions and record your findings in your notebooks:  Did PCLinux create a backup copy of the master boot record (MBR)?  How can I repair it?

Excel Review  Log in.  Launch Excel.  Common Interface Controls:  Menus  Toolbars  Task panes  Spreadsheet basics:  Rows (numbered horizontally)  Columns (lettered vertically)  Addresses (row and column intersections)  Data Entry  File Basics  Saving  Closing  Opening  Exiting  Justification  Left  Center  Right  Column Width  Formatting Values  Currency  Date  Fonts  Type  Size  Style

Focus Lesson Objectives: Modifying Data Lists  Be able to remain on task for an extended period of time.  Move from one worksheet to another.  Select cell ranges.  Copy and paste ranges of cells and their contents  Rename worksheets  Move columns of cells by cutting and pasting.

Exit Ticket  What operation could I perform if I needed to move several columns of cells to other columns?  Which “click” would I need to perform on a tab in order to rename a worksheet?  Which command would I need to click on if I wanted to create another worksheet within the same file?
