Digestive Lab Part 1: Human Anatomy and Alimentary Histology

Familiarize yourself with the organization of the digestive system of the human. Label the diagrams that you have been given. Use your textbook p will help you.

Histology of the Alimentary Canal For the following 5 slides, you are to sketch the histology of the layers of each organ cross- section. Refer to your Digestive notes packet and do your best to label the Tunics of tissue. Mucosa, Submucosa, and the Muscularis. You won’t see the last layer on these slides. For the Mucosa note the type of epithelium under your drawing and discuss how this form follows the function of the organ.
