Benedict of Nursia Born 480 c.e. Died 543 c.e. Canonized in 1220 by pope Honorious III

Nursia Located in central Italy In the country of Umbria Population is between 2000 and 5000.

Facts about Benedict Created the Benedictine Rule, for laymen, to “put on their armor and fight for the Lord” Benedict was son of a Roman noble. Spent his boyhood in Rome, but left later in life to study and form his ideology to create his Rule. Had 3 years of solitude to mature.
