Symbols and the School's Catholic Identity Most schools possess symbols already- they include things like pictures, statuary, emblems, mascots, colors, signs, and clothing. These symbols often serve to identify and represent as school's distinctive heritage and culture. The incorporation of multicultural images into a Catholic school's symbol system reflects the cultural diversity of the school and the Church. Some symbols are more "silent"- crucifixes, statues, pictures, posters, and banners. What are some of your symbols?

Catholic School Leadership & Symbols Religious images incorporated into the school symbol system and displayed around campus signal what the school community values. Wearing religious symbols is a powerful statement. Symbols serve as "nourishment" for the Catholic imagination
