Adjectives answer the questions: What kind? He drives an expensive car. Which one? These students passed their exams. How Many? There are twenty four students in class.

 The students are smart.  My favorite color is blue.  My best friend is very artistic.

Articles are adjectives. Indefinite Articles: a, an Definite Article: the EX: Mr. Smith is the man to call in case of an emergency. EX: There was a student in the hallway.

 The indefinite article A is used before a CONSONANT SOUND. EX: a class, a textbook  The indefinite article AN is used before a VOWEL SOUND. EX: an elephant, an idea

A Proper Adjective is a proper noun (a specific person, place, or thing) used as an adjective. EX: The Mexican Embassy is in Washington D.C. EX: English settlers introduced the game to their colonies.

Personal Pronouns can be used as adjectives if they modify a noun. My, your, his, her, its, our, their EX: Our cat is in their yard. EX: My class behaves very well.

The demonstrative pronouns, this, that, these, and those, can be adjectives if they modify a noun. EX: This class is my favorite.
