Chocolate Chip Cookies: Cooking 101

Step One: Find a recipe you like Look online. Look in cookbooks. Ask friends and family for recipes. Here is an example recipe:

Step Two: Making sure you have the necessary tools Ingredients as well! It is important before you start baking that you have the right ingredients Example ingredients: –Butter –Sugar –Eggs –Chocolate chips –Vanilla extract –Flour –Salt Cooling racks Measuring cups Mixing bowls Baking Sheets

Step Three: In the making Preheat your oven before mixing the ingredients. Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl and mix the wet ingredients in another. Then combine them into one large bowl. Roll the dough into golf ball size balls and place them 3 inches apart on baking sheet.

Some quick tips A time range is usually given in a recipe. Once you reach the short end of the time range, stick a toothpick in the center of the cookie, and pull it out quickly. If little or no cookie sticks to the toothpick, they are done. Allow cookies to cool on a cooling rack after they are taken out of the oven. Once they are cooled take them off cooling sheet or rack to prevent sticking.

Caution Do not keep oven door open when checking cookies. Each time you open it the oven cools off. After baking keep oven door slightly open. When placing and removing baking sheet watch your arms.

How to eat a chocolate chip cookie Step One: Place three cookies on a plate (it might not be necessary that you eat them all) Step Two: Obtain a large glass of milk (skim or percentage of your choice) Step Three: Making sure your hand can fit into the glass of milk Step Four: Bring your cookies and milk to a comfortable setting – maybe grab a magazine or book Step Four: Dip the best looking cookie – out of your three – into the large glass of milk Step Five: Chew and swallow Step Six: Repeat preceding steps until satisfied
