Me, Poseidon, and My Life

Im the Greek god Poseidon. I have the most children out of all the gods. My home is on Mount Olympus, but I like to stay in Atlantis. I created the horse and gave it to man kind. I am the second youngest son of Cronos and Rhea. I love making Tsunamis, earthquakes, and tidal waves. I train the dolphins in the ocean to do tricks and I’m working on my water park. I have to tend to my son, Polythemus, the Cyclops because Odysseus blinded him. About Me

Family Tree Hestia Poseidon Hades Zeus Hera Demeter CronosRhea Persephone

Symbols When I take pictures of myself with my camera. I’m usually with my horses, my trident (three prongs), my and dolphins. I created horses and gave them to my besties but someone gave ‘em to all the mortals. I always carry my lucky trident because I go fishing with it and I can hang shopping bags on them.

The Winter Solstice The Winter Solstice The winter solstice is a holiday in the winter celebrating the sun having a shorter time period in the sky. Greece celebrates this holiday. It is celebrate in December or January. They call it Posidea, after me. Its wondered why they celebrate it when the ancient Greeks didn’t sail at that time of the year. The people start a procession by the seashore. The priest leads that procession while the people “lead” me to my festival. There will be four bulls in the procession and the women, men, and children are last. They sprinkle water on themselves when entering the sanctuary. They sacrifice the bulls for me and I love the smell of the smoke when they are cooking. The boys compete in a regatta and I help the team I want to win. Then they all sit down and eat the bull meat. That finishes my festival.

Neptune’s Rings of Water Park This is my water park located in Atlantis the city under the water, which is in a glass bubble. I created 200 years ago and I am still in business. We have every water ride known to man. My Sirens can distract you on Dolphins Loop-Dee-Loop so you don’t feel sick. That’s just one of our offers. Stop in and see me today.

Heroes My favorite hero is my son Theseus. I don’t like Odysseus because be blinded my son Polythemus, and then taunted him! I tried to drowned Odysseus he was saved by a sea nymph. I tried many other things, like tsunami’s and hurricanes, but he just wouldn’t die. I gave up but I still hold my grudge.

My Trident I got my trident by the Cyclops. Its gives me the power to command waves, cause storms, shake the earth, sink boats, and make springs flow. I got my trident by the Cyclops. The King of Minos asked me to send him a bull from the sea, to prove his divine rite to rule Crete. King Minos Promised that he would sacrifice the bull to me, but when the time came, he didn’t do this because he liked the bull so much. As punishment for this betrayal, I asked Aphrodite, goddess of love to make King Mino’s wife fall in love with the bull. King Mino’s wife had a baby. The Minotaur, a part man part bull creature, which had to be kept in the Labyrinth at Crete that Daedalus made. My son Theseus falls in love with Ariadne, King Mino’s daughter, and has to go into the labyrinth and come out alive. Daedalus gives Theseus a clew and he goes in and kills the Minotaur. He is now married to Ariadne. But it feels the Minotaur still haunts him. The King of Minos asked me to send him a bull from the sea, to prove his divine rite to rule Crete.
