Participants will learn about common emotional responses to change 3. Participants will understand changes made in the new mental health services, and the goals/objectives of those changes 4. Participants will understand the role of consumers in the new mental health services

Overview Changes in Mental Health Services Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) is … …a facility based service …delivered in conjunction with Community Support … a service that promotes self-directed engagement in leisure, recreation, and community social activities … able to assist consumers in achieving their social, educational, and vocational goals … able to assist consumers in achieving their social, educational, and vocational goals …helps facilitate independent living, adaptation, problem solving, coping skills development

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is … …an evidenced based practice … an interdisciplinary team which consists of a psychiatrist, Nurse, Team Leader, and other Staff … an intensive integrated rehabilitative crisis, treatment, and rehabilitative service … intended to promote symptom stability,as well as restore personal care, community living, and social skills.
