Heroes A hero is a person who has done something brave or important.

Famous Scientist Washington Carver –He was a scientist who took the peanut plant and found many ways to use it such as peanut butter, cereal, medicine and glue.

Famous Inventor Benjamin Franklin discovered the lightening rod, and bifocal glasses.

Hero of Courage Abraham Lincoln believed slavery was wrong. He passed a law to stop slavery.

Compassion Hero Mother Teresa formed a group of nuns to help the poor in India. m

A Hero Who Explores Sally Ride was the first American woman to go into space. She went on the space shuttle twice. She studied sickness in space. She now writes children’s books.
