To be completed by… ResponsibilityTo be completed StudentRegistered with UCAS Student (completed by 18 th July)Personal Details, Additional Information and Student Finance Tutor (9 th - 13 th July)Track and chase outstanding subject references Summer Holidays - ResponsibilitySummer Holidays- To be completed StudentResearch University’s and courses (content, grades and expectations, possibility of scholarships/bursaries and graduate prospects / where did graduates actually end up working?) StudentPersonal Statement Layout Sheet – needs to be filled with evidence as a skeleton format for your write up.

Getting Started – Things to complete! 1) Personal details Fee Code – 02 Support arrangements – Dorset Nominated Access – MUST register a parent/guardian who can access this on your behalf

Other areas to be completed! 2) Additional info : Ethnic and religious persuasions 3 ) Student Finance: Students should tick the box saying ‘not privately funded’ as this will register their intention to apply for finance. If students are not applying for finance and covering the costs themselves, they have to pick from the other options available.

Extra things to be doing! You need to start researching: Universities you want to go to Grades that you need Specific skills/WEX related to the course (SO IMPORTANT !!!!!) What ‘type’ of person the university is looking for to apply for this course

Preparing for the Personal Statement This is a VITAL part of your application and shows the university your passion, dedication and interest in them, the course and your future It is not meant to be a list to show how many things you have done, but rather a well selected group of examples backed up with explanation Even if you are NOT applying to university it is still a good idea to write a statement about why you wish to go in to an apprenticeship, college or employment placement.

Use the information sheet to guide your understanding of what is needed Use the Personal Statement Layout Sheet to put bullet pointed evidence/examples that you will expand upon in your write up On Wednesday 5 th September you will need a filled in version of the Personal Statement Layout Sheet so that we can start writing a draft in this session.
