One perfect summer day, Julie was playing outside in her front yard by the big apple tree. The sun was shining and the weather was beautiful, but Julie was lonely and she didn’t know what she could do! She realized she didn’t eat lunch yet, and that was when an idea popped into her mind. I have an idea!

Julie decided she wanted a plump red apple from the very top of the tree. She was too short to reach it, since it was the highest apple up there, so she had to think and think and think… until she finally realized she could call her best friend, Ben, to climb the tree, since he lived right across the street and this tree was his favorite tree to climb.

She ran off got Ben and came back to the tree. “Will you get me that shiny red apple all the way on the top of the tree?” Ben gladly agreed, “Of course! I’ll get one for myself too!” and he eagerly jumped onto the tree and started to climb. He got all the way up and shouted, “I made it to the top of the tree!” Clipart I made it to the top of the tree!

Suddenly, a gust of wind came out of nowhere and knocked Ben right out of the tree! He scraped his knee and Julie didn’t know what she should do! She thought the best thing would be to get an adult. She told Ben to stay where he was, while she ran into her house, got her mom, and led her to the tree where Ben sat crying. Clipart

Julie’s mom, a nurse, helped Ben with his injury. It turned out that he had way more than a scraped knee, he broke his leg! Julie’s mom took care of it and Julie felt bad that Ben broke his leg, so she promised him that she would help him as much as she could. They spent the rest of day relaxing and eating apples from the lower branches, while they watched the clouds go by. Clipart
