Grade sheets  You will need to keep a grade sheet in this class. There are two main reasons for this:  You always know what your current grade is and how each assignment affects that grade  You know if you are missing an assignment.  All assignments are numbered and must go on your grade sheet in a particular order so you know if you are missing anything.  Here is the link for the grade sheet: Grade_Sheet.docGrade_Sheet.doc

What is this class all about? \\bc.local\staff$\HomeDirs\aford\conceptual science\Conceptual Science outline.docx \\bc.local\staff$\HomeDirs\aford\conceptual science\Conceptual Science outline.docx

What is chemistry all about?  Matter  Periodic table  Chemical reactions/equations  States of matter  Acids and bases  Labs, labs, labs so writing a proper lab report and following lab rules will be keys to success.

What is physics all about?  Motion  Inertia  Gravity  Waves  Energy  Magnetics  Labs!

US History and Geography  We start with the Civil War and move through to modern day  We study the United States map! (yes, know your states!)  We think about WHY things happened the way they did and wonder about what would have been different if things had been done differently  We look at our relationship to other countries and how that has changed over the years  We look for links between things  We see history as a big story, not a series of isolated events
