Additional Images from Bought and Paid for I am not a salesman and do not get commission, I do how ever endorse this site and their graphics. I would not be able to make a good Power Point with out them. It is worth every penny.

Teacher Lecture Notes This game was developed as a vocabulary review, and is based directly off of the game show from television. I went to great lengths to find the original sound track so as to add to the cheesy 1970’s feel and experience. If you ham it up, and act the part of the game show host, it adds so much more to the fun of the event. To make a show: start at slide number 4, and type over the words” Things in Topic here” this is the title of the round and should give the players an idea of what the words are based on. Such as “Things found in the solar system” Next slide is the first vocabulary word. Type over the words “Round ## Clue Number ##” and type in your vocabulary word. For example (Planets, Star, Asteroid, Meteor, etc.) Now save your show: To do this select “File” then Save As…” This file is a template and is “read only” so you can’t accident's mess up your template.. You will have to change the name to what ever you want. I usually name it for what ever unit it is covering. Start the show: Once you have the 4 rounds filled in go back to the slide number one (black screen) and start the slide show (F5 key). The black slide is there so you can have the show started with out all of the music etc, while the kids walk in and sit down. Don’t bother getting their attention, just click the mouse or hit the space bar, all eyes are on you and the screen from now on. The show will advance on its own to the money screen. The music will start on its own as well. I usually turn down the music and talk over it, reviewing how we play the game. If you are using a lap top or a desk top you might want to get a good pair of speakers from your media center, so it will be loud enough for all to hear. Practice a couple of times before you do it in front of the kids. Page 1 of 2

Teacher Lecture Notes Drawing players – I use raffle tickets, and draw a student out of a hat/bucket/what ever. That student can then pick a partner. They decide who is going to give, and who is going to receive. To play the game: Set two chairs up in the middle of the room. One chair facing the projected show or TV, one chair facing away. The chair facing the show is the giver of clues, the chair facing away is the receiver. The giver is allowed to describe the word any way they want to without actually using the word, thus using the definition. When the student gets the word correct hit the space bar, or click to advance to the next clue. If the student gets it wrong they need to keep going or pass to the next slide. If they pass If you use a “Money” based classroom system feel free to change the numbers to reflect a realistic amount to win. When I say “Money” I mean anything from classroom credits to French Fries or stickers. I use class room credits 5 credits to 1000 credits. In money denominations accordingly. Prior to game show day I allow them to buy raffle tickets. I usually don’t set a limit, its there credits after all. Enjoy! Page 2 of 2
