Welcome to Life Class! 3 rd Period (5 th period starts on slide 7)

What is Life Class?  A short time each day where small groups at OHS develop skills together to help ensure success in school and life.

When do we meet?

What Will I Need?  A composition book just for Life Class  You will need to bring the composition book to both 3 rd and 5 th class.  A pen or pencil  An open mind

What type of life skills?  Creating Mission Statements  Setting goals  Planning and organization  Creating videos  Brainstorming  Listening  Exploring the world for diversity  Sharing ideas and opinions

What else will we do in this class?  Identify missing assignments or failing grades in other classes  Determine attendance goals

Welcome to Life Class! 5 th Period

What is Life Class?  An opportunity for a small groups at OHS to develop life skills together by sharing different perspectives and experiences to help insure our success in academics and life. To enlighten and make each of us stronger citizens.

Throw a ball activity 1. Say your name 2. Answer question 3. Think of a question for someone else to answer (such as What jr hi did you attend? Do you have brothers and sisters? What’s your favorite school subject?) 4. Toss ball (or whatever the teacher has you toss) to a student who says their name, answers your question and then answers the next ppt question

 What is life class?  What do I need to bring?  What is a goal?  What is one thing you could gain from this class?  What do you think will be the most helpful part of a class like this?

 What time is 5 th period Life Class?  How many times will you go to Life Class in a week?  What is a goal?  What is one thing you could gain from this class?  What do you think will be the most helpful part of this class?

 Have you ever created a video using your phone?  What does brainstorming mean to you?  How do you brainstorm?  Do you have a life goal?  Why should we have goals?

 Why should we have a life mission?  What is perspective?  How can we grow from listening?  Is diversity a good thing? Why?  What would help you the most in Life Class?
