Year 9 Curriculum Choices Personalising Learning Miss Everitt Deputy Headteacher

CORE – All students will study: Maths English Language and Literature Science RE PE PDC

Options You must then choose subjects to fill the optional parts of your timetable There are three option spaces to fill

OPTION 1 GCSEs: French, Spanish, German, Computing History, Geography You must pick one of the subjects below:

OPTIONS BTECs Sport Health and Social Care Music Technology GCSEs: Media, Drama, Music, PE, Dance Fine Art, Textile Art, 3D Design French, Spanish, German, Business Studies, ICT, Computing History, Geography, Sociology, Citizenship, RE Catering, Graphic Products, Systems and Control, Textiles Technology, Product Design, You can then pick any of the following to fill your remaining two choices

RE All students will study RE for two hours a fortnight Some students may wish to choose to study GCSE RE – two possible pathways –Choose RE as an Option Subject –Some students may be advised that they are suitable to study GCSE RE in the two hours a week compulsory RE time

You will be asked to pick 5 options and place them in order of preference OPTION 1 OPTION 2. OPTION 3: RESERVE 1 RESERVE 2 Wherever possible we will try to guarantee you your first three choices

Making your choices Your choices will be filled in on the options choices form which you will receive at the Options Evening on 26 th March (next Thursday) This form must be handed in by 17 th April 2015 You will receive lots of guidance from mentors and subject teachers
