The News at Ten rule Tell the audience what you are going to tell them. Tell them! Tell them what you have told them.
The Rule of 6 No more than 6 lines to a slide No more than 6 words per line
The lower case rule A mix of upper and lower class letters is easier to read. UPPER CASE LETTERS BY THEMSELVES ARE MORE DIFFICULT TO READ, as you can see.
The earth-to-sky rule Arrange colors from dark to light. Don’t use more than four colors per slide. Be consistent with color choices.
The rule for the color challenged 15 – 25% of people have difficulty seeing certain color combinations Avoid certain color combinations: –red/green –brown/green –blue/black –blue/purple
