The Circus….. A circus spectator is sitting in the bleachers so that her line of sight is at the safety net, which is 10 feet above the ground. The base of the trapeze platform is 80 feet away from her, and rises 40 feet above the ground (and so, 30 feet above the net). Find the angle her eyes make while watching the performers launch off the trapeze platform.

NASCAR Michael Waltrip is behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. If the angle of depression is 18˚ from Waltrip looking down at Earnhardt’s bumber and Waltrip gets so close that he can only see the 3 feet back end of Earnhardt’s car, how far apart are their bumpers. Assume that the horizontal distance from Michael Waltrip’s eyes to the front of his car is 5 feet.

NASCAR Michael Waltrip is behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. If the angle of depression is 18˚ and Michael gets so close that he can only see the 3 feet back end of Dale’s car, how far apart are their bumpers.
