Band Tour Project

YOUR Mission (besides rocking out!) You have just started a band. You are going to release a new CD. You are going on tour. Now all you have to do is create it, organize it, and publicize it. You have just started a band. You are going to release a new CD. You are going on tour. Now all you have to do is create it, organize it, and publicize it.

Step 1 1. What is the lowdown on your band? Name? 2. What kind of music do you play? (Country, Rock, Metal, New Wave, Rap, Christian, etc…) 3. What type of group? (duo, trio, quartet) 4. Who are the other members of the band? 5. What instruments do people play? 6. Who sings? Background bios? 7. Anything else you would like to add. STAND UP AND SHOUUUUT!

Step 2 1. Design a logo for your band using Fireworks 2. Include this logo on everything to do with the band.

Step 3 1. Design the front and back cover for your first CD. At least ten (10) song titles should be on the back. Please be appropriate.

Step 4 1. Develop a tour schedule of at least a dozen (12) cities. You figure out how long it will take you. (No more than six months) The schedule should list cities, dates, times, and arenas you are playing. Who will be your opening act? Be realistic in your time frame. (Don’t play L.A. one night and play N.Y. the next) Be realistic in your time frame. (Don’t play L.A. one night and play N.Y. the next)

Step 4 cont. 1. The tour info page should include: 2. A map of the USA a. The cities you are touring b. Draw a line from city to city to trace your path c. Make your tour map an image map. Make hot spots for each city and link them to pages about each tour stop or use a java script to create pop-up windows. (Concert info, dates, arenas, fan info, etc…)

Step 5 1. No tour is complete without a t-shirt. Design one. Front and back. 2. Focus this page on selling shirts. Include a sales pitch and pricing. You can sell other merchandise as well.
