DSL Connection Stands for "Digital Subscriber Line." a DSL circuit is much faster than a regular phone connection, even though the wires it uses are copper like your typical phone line. The Transfer Rate for DSL Connection is 144Kbps to 1.5Mbps. The cost of a DSL connection ranges from $14.95 a month for Netzero and $26.95 for SBC Yahoo.

Cable Connection Cable connection uses cable TV for internet connection. The cost range of a cable connection is for a Motorola SB5100 is $55.00 and other cable connections can range to about $90 or more. The Transfer Rate is 3Mbps.
