“Global Colorado” Mission: People, Economy, Security Global challenges and opportunities lead us to draw on insights and expertise from business and industry, agriculture, the professions, federal, state and local government, the media, academia and civil society to: –Enhance civic engagement and quality of life in Colorado –Grow the Colorado economy and create jobs –Secure Colorado and its people

Issues Facing Colorado Community: Living & Working in Colorado Economy and environment Education Health and poverty Media, culture, arts & humanities Immigration Commerce: Economic Growth, Opportunity, & Challenges Trade & investment, agriculture, industry, employment Technology & intellectual property Infrastructure: Transportation, IT Energy and water resources Taxation & government role Security & Civil Liberties: Safeguarding Colorado Homeland security, rights & liberties Narcotics trade, human trafficking and other crimes

Timeline October 2010 – a preliminary workshop of three committees organized respective to the three lenses making up the mission –Frame the lenses –Pose key questions which would be addressed by participants in the later winter conference on the Global Colorado initiative –Set calendar for Kickoff Conference preparatory meetings April/May 2011 – Kick-off Conference where issues are discussed and debated in the context of the greater lenses –Active participants and panelists include subject matter experts from business and industry, academia, government, legal, press and other communities. –Papers publicly brought forth for discussion and debate September/October 2011 – Interim Conference to assess progress –Preliminary reports and discussion on effectiveness of organization April/May 2012 – Concluding Conference: Policy Recommendations –Summary text publication –Website ongoing with further information, positions –Proposed legislation
