The history of the pendulum

Galileo Galilei He was born 15. February 1564 and he died 8. January 1642 Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher He is a major person in the Scientific Revolution He developed the telescope and with that he discovered: - four largest moons of Jupiter - noticed phases of Venus - made observation and analysis of sunspots

Physics Galileo conducted several experiments with pendulums Galileo's theoretical and experimental work to describe the movement of the pieces became the basis for classical mechanics Galileo determined the correct mathematical law acceleration: the distance from the rest, is proportional to the square of the elapsed time (dxt²)

The word ”pendulum” comes from a latin word ”pendulus”, which means ”hanging” The pendulum was invented by Ibn Yunus in 1000-century Abu al-Hasan 'Ali ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad ibn Yunus al-Sadafi al-Misri (Ibn Yunus)

Now we’re going to talk about Galileo’s invention pendulum, not the band called Pendulum

Galileo became interested in pendulums when he watched a lamp swinging in a cathedral In 1602, Gelileo began experimenting with pendulums and discovered that the period of a pendulum is not affected by the amplitude
