360 0 Walkthrough TEACHER TRAINING

Develop and support Professional Learning communities Strengthen the Teaching Profession Support the success of every student and teacher Assist teachers to improve their practice Reflect on proven research-based practices and how they are used in the classroom Increase student performance through the use of ongoing assessments Enhance professional development of administrators and teachers Promote the School Vision/Mission Walkthrough Goals

The 360 degree walkthrough is designed to equip campus leaders with the tools they need to assess the effectiveness of classroom instruction and has a strong basis in both research and practice. This walkthrough incorporates the High Yield Strategies research of Robert J. Marzano, the Taxonomy of Educational Objectives of Benjamin Bloom, and Philip Schlechty’s findings on student engagement. This program is aligned with the first four classroom domains of PDAS and is designed to provide a means to build reflective dialogue and develop staff capacity regarding our instructional practices. From providing a shared vocabulary based on researched based strategies and PDAS to coaching collaborative conversations, educators are empowered by focusing on what matters most - student learning. 360° Walkthrough Design

High Yield Strategies First Turn / Last Turn –Count off into Groups of Three Individually read page 1 of “High Yield Strategies” Highlight 1-2 items that are interesting to you, points of agreement/disagreement, etc. –Using a round-robin process, each member of the group will share one highlighted item. Cross talk is restricted! –The person who went first gets to share one more time.

High Yield Strategies First Turn / Last Turn - continued –Read to the end of page 2 repeat First Turn/Last Turn process –Read to the end of page 4 Repeat First Turn/Last Turn process
