Standards Based Curriculum Connected Mathematics Project (CMP3) During this course we will utilize Thinking Habits and Mathematical Practices to build upon previous knowledge, make sense of problems, and apply learning to new situations.

Curriculum Connected Mathematics Project (CMP3) 8 separate units (only 1 book) Additional concepts & material to insure State standards met

Parent Expectations Supply a good place and time to study Check your students work Ask questions and ask your student to explain what they’re doing

How can you help your child: Check the Assignment Sheets to know what is going on. Look at Family Access on a regular basis CMP3 Math XL for students at mathxlforschool.commathxlforschool.com Interactive tutorial exercises with immediate feedback Multimedia learning aids Quizzes to check for understanding CMP3 Resources for Parent/Guardian at Back side of the parent letter for each unit Go over their class work and notes!! Encourage them to talk with (and/or ) the teacher Encourage them to attend MathHelp

Homework 5 nights a week (most likely) About 20 minutes per night (average) Homework written in Planner from whiteboard in Ms. Brewster’s room KEY posted on Ms. Brewster’s website—student should check for understanding on each homework assignment Weekly Assignment Sheet (two weeks posted—at a time-- on Ms. Brewster’s website) Math Help Specifics to follow Activity bus available Schedule appointment
