Select the Textbook

Almost there, Click on “Preview Features” to get a sampling of the special features available to you and your students. There will be an opportunity to create classes from that screen or Select “Create a Course” to go directly to that function.

These previews give an excellent overview of functionality and activities. When you are done exploring, select “Create a Course” in top right corner of this screen.

There are three options here, you can copy a Pre- Built course with assignments already made or copy another instructor’s course, but for now, select “Create new Course” Users can always set up additional courses using the other formats if desired.

Give the Course a Name Select Country and set time zone. There is not just generic CST, so I selected Chicago, as it is the same time zone as us. It’s important to set your time zone correctly as when making assignments, the system will turn off student access at the time you designate.

Determine whether you want to have students enter their Student ID numbers during self registration. And select yes or no. For more information about why you may want Student ID numbers associated with students, click here.

The system will automatically generate a Course ID. If you want to change it, simply overtype with desired name. See the naming parameters by clicking on “Learn more about Course ID’s” Set access preferences then select “Create Course”

The system automatically runs a Browser Check, to update any items listed as a problem, select the download option on the right

This is the Home screen. Take a moment to explore the options. 1.Course Calendar will give calendar view of assignments due 2.Assignments Tab is where assignments are made 3.Item library, allows the instructor to view assignment components before actually making the assignment. 4.Instruction Resources are downloadable ancillaries for the instructor’s use 5.Point of use training modules. 6.Learning Catylics is a class polling utility

Select Item Library to see components for each lesson/chapter. To view other modules in the curriculum, select the Chapter drop down arrow to jump to that chapter.

Select Chapter

To make an assignment, open the Assignments Tab Select the Chapter Select Components to be assigned

The order if multiple assignments can be changed here

To learn more about setting optional learning outcomes, click this. This is optional and may be skipped

Set Due Date

Define window of opportunity for student to access and complete assignment. Notice the dates include specific times. The student will not be able to access the assignment outside these time frames. (Be sure you set your time zone correctly)

SUCCESS !

Select Instructor Resources

Again, select the Chapter to see list of Downloadable Instructor resources
