Now What? Congratulations… you had tons of students sign up for your organization at the Org Fair! Now, we will help you think about how to:  Gather;  Assemble;  And KEEP good members!

Things to think about with… [RECRUITMENT]  Branding  Visibility  *swag!  Themed marketing  Interest meeting

Things to think about with… [ASSEMBLY]  Review the WHY:  Mission  Purpose  Goals  Buy-in

Things to think about with… [RETENTION]  Establish the BUY-IN.  How is your organization mission-driven?  What is your purpose?  Why do you assemble?  How does belonging to this group benefit  Members?  The Elon community?

Things to think about with… [RETENTION]  Establish GROUND RULES.  What are your organization’s by-laws?  What are expectations for membership?  How are members held accountable for these expectations?

Things to think about with… [RETENTION]  Establish CLEAR AND EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP.  What are the executive/leadership roles and how are they elected?  Who is the faculty/staff advisor? What does this person do?

Things to think about with… [RETENTION]  Be RESPECTFUL of TIME and FINANCES.  Provide an organized schedule in advance  Avoid impromptu mandatory events or gatherings  Make sure members understand the financial commitment

And finally… RECOGNIZE GREAT MEMBERS!
