District MEP Collaboration  Consider working with another nearby district to provide services to migrant students and their families (Example: Vallivue Annual Parent Meeting)  Work with nearby district to develop Regional PAC if not having success with District PAC  Meet monthly with nearby District MEP director(s) to collaborate and discuss successes/challenges

Guidance with MEP funds and Translating for Districts  MEP funded staff can translate MEP related materials (i.e., Migrant PAC invites, agendas/minutes; information regarding Migrant funded services)  MEP funded staff cannot translate documents provided to all students (i.e., school newsletters, district newsletters, report cards, PTO newsletters, LEP Placement letters, etc)  If a MEP funded staff is translating general documents provided to all students, a proportionate percentage of the staff’s salary must come from other funds.

Other MEP Updates  Idaho will not participate in the Mexican Teacher Exchange Program this summer  In the process of re-writing State Migrant Student Information System (MSIS) to align with ISEE  Less manual input=more time on identification and recruitment of migrant students  Idaho State MEP will receive technical assistance this summer to develop an MSIX plan
