To put your footer here go to View > Header and Footer 5 Learning Objectives from sessions 1 and 2 From these two sessions you Recognised the value of good reporting Identified characteristics of a good report Suggested different ways of reporting

To put your footer here go to View > Header and Footer 6 This session – review of reports We take examples from within SADC First a large survey called an agriculture sample census from Tanzania –We look at the technical report –And at some results –To help with a possible 2 nd edition Then a local survey –which we relate to the principles of official statistics

To put your footer here go to View > Header and Footer 7 Activity 2: Tanzania survey Methodology report exists There is a technical guide plus questionnaire very useful that there is a pdf version use it and give praise for that In Module B2 you reviewed – some tables and graphs This is partly repeated But also with the accompanying text to review Designed for group work

To put your footer here go to View > Header and Footer 8 Principles of Official Statistics Principle 4 states the following: The statistical agencies are entitled to comment on erroneous interpretation and misuse of statistics. Relevance here: If the local report is from the NSO then it should be available (on the web site???) and set a good example If from an NGO/University, etc Then principle 4 encourages the NSO to have a monitoring role – do they monitor? They need a structure to do this
