LUCENT Surgical, Inc. S. I. M. P. L. (Surgical Instrumentation Management Program by LUCENT)

Who is LUCENT Surgical? LUCENT Surgical is an O.R. and C.P.D. based reusable instrumentation management company. LUCENT Surgical is a “per-procedure”, “in-sourced” surgical services company. LUCENT Surgical is an on-site, reusable, instrument kit supplier.

Why are we here? Surgical instrumentation has become more complex, harder to process, more expensive to procure and ever more difficult to track. Trained personnel have become harder to find and more expensive to maintain.

How do we help? Through focused instrument management, we can reduce the number of overall trays entering your O.R., provide well constructed and processed sets for every case, greatly reduce the use of costly disposable products, eliminate the stress of turning and flashing, improve space utilization and assume the burden for repairs, replacements and acquisitions.

Where can we help you? Decreased Inventory Space. Smaller pans Combined pans Improved Processing Time. Modular instruments break down Complete and inspected each time Improved Response Time. Separately peel-pouched items Dedicated staffing Direct, immediate surgical support

Hard Dollar Savings. Decreased disposable costs Repair and replacement costs eliminated Soft Cost Savings. Improved preference card management Improved O.R. turnaround time Set Standardization Benchmarking

Increase specialty procedures Procedural marketing Cooperative assurance methods Direct performance accountability Stronger working relationship with surgeons Potential assurance improvements

Why not develop an internal program? Difficult to manage Responsible for evaluations, procurement, repairs, replacements, depreciation, inventorying, tracking, inspecting, decontaminating, training, surgeon interaction, hiring F.T.E.’s, No time to coordinate Risk of failure LUCENT has program with timelines ready to implement
