MODULE ? CUSTOMER CHOICE PROGRAM

The opportunity for a retail electric or natural gas customer to choose who supplies their electric or natural gas. Just as customers shop for other products and services, they are also able to shop for an energy supplier. With Choice, energy customers from large manufacturers to residential homeowners are able to shop for energy options from a diverse group of competitive suppliers certified by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). With the Customer Choice Program, consumers now have the opportunity to choose the company that supplies their natural gas and electricity and the price they want to pay. CUSTOMER CHOICE PROGRAM

One easy way to think of it is IGS Energy is their supplier and the Utility is their delivery service. The main focus of the supplier is purchasing energy when the market price of energy is low, delivering it to the utility, who then distributes it through the existing infrastructure. Thanks to energy deregulation, consumers can now choose the best energy plan for their energy needs. Consumers now have peace of mind knowing that if rates go up, theirs won't. The Utility Company will still provide expert distribution, metering, and billing services, just like they always have. CUSTOMER CHOICE PROGRAM
