Set Design By Isabella Levy and Shannon Dias

Ideas For Show - London London/Greenwich – this was our final show we went through with. We based our show on different locations throughout London that people may want to visit. This episode was based on Greenwich. Others in the series would include, Camden and China Town.

Set Ideas – London We had many ideas to start with about how the presenter and guest would be seated. We originally were going to put them both on stools, but we thought it was too formal. So we ended up deciding on on a sofa and a chair which were a bit more ‘laid back’ We always knew that we would have a table with some glasses and possibly some flowers. On the day we decided to put some magazines on the table to ill it out a bit more. The idea of having tube maps and pictures of London was something we decided on at the beginning of the project. But as we started to put up the background, we realised they looked a bit tacky and weren’t professional enough so we left the background plain.

Ideas For Show - Fashion Fashion – Our first idea was to have a fashion show and this would include tips on how to save, the different influences fashion has on the public, a section where a model would come in and show off different styles, what’s ‘in’ this season. We would go around to different boroughs and see if fashion changes within different parts of London.

Set Ideas - Fashion We would have a podium or small stage where the model would stand to show off the different outfits. We were also considering having some judges that could judge the different outfits the the model would wear. They would have sat behind a small table on some stools. There would be a curtain at the beginning of the ‘catwalk’ and the model would appear through the curtains.

Influences The main influence for us was The One Show. It has a relaxed informal feeling to it, which is the same vibe we wanted. We copied the idea of sofas and a table as it gave the right image for our show. In the one show they have a TV screen which shows different images. We weren’t able to put a logo on our screen or use a green screen in front of it, so we just left it blank.

How It Went Overall the set design was a success. Teamed with the lighting there were some great effects created with the backboards. It gave an informal chat show-like impression.
