BUDGET UPDATE 2006 – 2009: Overall federal reduction of approximately $100,000 absorbed by ADHS 2008: $26,500 cut from State Budget –Shifted federal funds to cover losses –CDI position in N. AZ lost due to retirement and hiring freeze

BUDGET UPDATE 2008: –Lost Administrative Assistant II (data entry) 2009: Lost part-time data entry clerk –2 weeks furlough for 6 positions –Lost Administrative Assistant

BUDGET UPDATE 2009: –State Laboratory in Tucson closed Aptima only: three times as expensive Loss of staff and equipment = loss of capacity Additional FTE cost to Program –Syphilis Elimination Effort cut nearly $18,000 –Prevention, including STD, is being prioritized at Federal level
