Introduction to the GPS “Teaching you the limited amount I know.”

What is a GPS?

How does it work?

Teaching your students to enter a waypoint. Power on (step 1) Press this button 4 times to get to the menu page. (step 2) Up navigation button. Down navigation button. Enter button

Once you see this screen press the enter button. Walk to the location you want to mark and press enter. You have now entered a waypoint. You can end your search or leave a clue here. If this is just an intermediate location then just keep walking until you find your next hiding location and go through the same steps above.

Locating a waypoint. Press the down button to highlight “Waypoints and press enter. Waypoints that have been entered will be visible. Our waypoints will be numbered so press enter to highlight a set way point. If several were set you will want to use the up/down buttons to highlight number 1. Press enter again.

When you see this screen press enter and a compass with a directional arrow will appear. Follow the arrow until you reach your destination. The GPS will let you know when you have arrived.
