Presentation transcript:

Are you in the right place? This is Algebra 1. I am Ms. Almon. We are in Room 111. So far so good? Raise your hand if you think you are in the wrong place!

Find the desk with a popsicle stick with your first name on it, and possibly your last name initial. Please have a seat and begin filling out the front and back of Who Are You. TAKE YOUR TIME filling out questions on the back and HELP ME HELP YOU. When you are finished bring the paper and popsicle back to the cart, and pick up your “suitcase handout”. Explanation to follow.

And more importantly welcome to Rains High School! Our faculty theme this year is “Enjoy The Ride”. We actually took an Amtrak train ride together to get to know one another better! In honor of this, I want you to “Pack Your Bag” so I can get to know you better! You may either draw or write names of 5 things you would take with you on a day trip. So, think of your hobbies and activities you enjoy and pack them in your bag! Ex. Book, fishing rod, basketball, xbox, etc. Hold this until everyone has packed their bag!

True or False??? 3 are true, 1 is false…can you figure out which one is false? I am one of 6 kids. I have my Masters Degree and a principal certificate. I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I graduated from University of Texas in Austin.

Pair Share Find someone who is not your elbow partner and share your BAG with them. Do this 2 more times.

Syllabus Review We will review the syllabus briefly. Your homework assignment is to go over this with your parent/guardian. Bring the Acknowledgement form back to me signed by both of you! Have a great first day of high school!
