Themes in Social Studies education (p. 61). What must you teach? What decisions are yours to make about what and how you can teach?

Writing Objectives Objectives describe the specific knowledge or skills that are expected to result from the teaching/learning activities

Behavioral objectives They derive from broad aims of the unit and are statements of value judgments about what students should learn. They are more specific, clear objectives using verbs such as list, identify, draw, explain, define, model, measure, and solve.

From the objectives below, identify the ones that are clearly stated. ÊThe student will learn about the shopping mall (First Grade). ËThe student will write a two-page essay on the life of Abraham Lincoln (Fifth Grade). ÌThe student will identify the states in the United States (Fourth Grade).
