Examples In the Beartooth Mountains of Montana, there is a most unusual glacier. Within the ice of the glacier are frozen millions of grasshoppers. According to scientists, an immense swarm of grasshoppers made a forced landing on the glacier two centuries ago! They were then quickly frozen by a snowstorm. Today the grasshoppers are still well preserved.
