A framework to help you manage change Managing Change Nothing Ever Stays the Same

Be aware of what is going on in your life and the relationships around you: Try to face up to the fact that change is a part of life that we cannot avoid. Ask yourself: Can I accept that this change is going to happen and I cant avoid it? Mayer Johnson PCS Symbols © Mayer Johnson LLC (contact Widgit Software

Accept your feelings about the change: It is important to be honest about how you feel, even when the feelings are difficult. Change can feel unpleasant but if you bottle up your feelings you will feel worse later. Ask yourself: How am I feeling about this change? Mayer Johnson PCS Symbols © Mayer Johnson LLC (contact Widgit Software

Identify your fears: Once you recognise that you are experiencing difficult feelings, try to think through what it is that you are afraid of. Ask yourself: What am I worried about and how would I like the situation to be different? Mayer Johnson PCS Symbols © Mayer Johnson LLC (contact Widgit Software

Talk to someone you trust about how you feel: People who care about you will want to listen. Sharing your worries can feel like a weight being lifted from your shoulders. Ask yourself: Who can I talk to about this? Mayer Johnson PCS Symbols © Mayer Johnson LLC (contact Widgit Software

When you are ready, try to think positively: Take care of yourself and think of things however small that might help you to feel better. Ask yourself: What might help me feel better? Mayer Johnson PCS Symbols © Mayer Johnson LLC (contact Widgit Software
