PowerPoint Views You can change the views by clicking on the View tab to display the choices or the tiny icons on the bottom right of the screen

CREATING SLIDES To start creating slides: open PowerPoint A Blank Presentation will appear with a title slide To add a new slide click on the New Slide icon in the Home tab

Transitions Transitions are special effects used to introduce a slide To add a transition click on the Transitions tab You can add sound, change the timing You can add the same transition to all slides or custom each slide

PRESENTATION TIPS…  Minimize (do not use a lot of words) the amount of text on a slide or it is difficult for the audience to pick out what is important  Font sizes should be between 22 and 36 points for readability.  Use a simple and plain font (2 or 3 fonts in total).  Avoid using too many colours, which can make a presentation hard to read.  Try to choose a design template which best suites the subject matter.

PRESENTATION TIPS…(Cont’d)  A professional presentation must have NO spelling errors.  Using too many transitions or animations distracts from the information (audience will focus only on transitions or animations, and devote little attention to the presentation content).  Use clip art, animation, video, and audio to enhance the message.
