My Trip To The

We will drive to the Center for Children and Families.

We will park next to the Center for Children and Families in the parking lot.

I will walk with my family to the front door. Walkway Front Door

A staff member will be waiting at the front desk for me.

I may have to wait in the waiting room for a few minutes.

Someone from the F.U.N. Lab will greet me and lead me down the hallway to the F.U.N. Lab rooms.

I will sit with my family and learn about the research study.

My family and I will sign some papers before I get started.

I will get a checklist of all the things I will do.

Next I will go into the F.U.N. Lab with a staff member and we will start. Many people have fun, and I will have fun too!

Some activities are like doing puzzles, and others are like word games. Sometimes I will tell stories, or listen to stories and answer questions.

I will have my checklist with me so I can see how much I have left to do. I can always ask to take a break. I can say “May we take a break?”

If I am hungry I may have a snack during my break.

I can also use the restroom during my break.

I will try to do my best on all of the activities. It is important to do my best so Dr. Diehl and the F.U.N. Lab can complete their science project.

If I finish all of the activities and try my best, I will receive $30 at the end of the visit.

My trip to the F.U.N. lab will be over, and I can go home.
