 An editor may choose to print a photo essay if the story is told better by many words and few pictures.  Some Photo essays may tell one small portion of a much bigger story  Through the series of photos the photographer should be able to tell the whole story’

 A photo essay does not always tell the story step by step.  Most year books use this style of photographic coverage to show activities and groups during the school year.

 A special type of photo essay is a photo series.  A photo series is a group of pictures often taken over time o show how things change.  These photos should focus on one person or place and should be placed side by side
