What is An Assessment?

Types of Assessments Diagnostic: Assessment that gives information about student’s skills and/or knowledge before instruction takes place Formative: Assessment that provides feedback to students and instructors during instruction so that both can improve Summative: Assessment that is meant to provide an evaluation of a student’s mastery or growth after instruction is completed Informal: Umbrella term for measures of student performance or understanding that are not standardized, usually feedback is quick

District Created Assessments BCPS has created a number of assessments. In many cases they are optional, and your school will decide if you have to give them. EOY: End of Year Exam - Final Exam MOY: Middle of Year Exam- Midterm Exam LDC: Literacy Design Collaborative  Mini-units of study meant to complement curriculum  It is important to note that The District only has Midterm and Final Exams for Health, not PE.
