Surveys Helmet Surveys 2 x per year Hospital Survey Currently 1 x per year, but increase in 2006 due to database officer. Plans of MOH to set up trauma registry at Friendship Hospital with WHO support.

Public Awareness Helmet wearing campaigns In May the Lao Government decided to enforce the helmet law. This has been delayed until the end of 2005, as the fine had to be agreed on and the traffic police is trained on the issue. HIB decided to put the core focus on helmet wearing for Banners, radio spots and DJ announcements, information stands, leaflets, social marketing of helmets, 1 TV spot.

Public Awareness Social marketing of helmets 1,250 helmets imported from Thailand (3 different types, incl. 2 children helmets). Helmets will be sold for 50 % of the price in shops.
