Preserving Resources

 a natural resource that can be replaced

 a natural material that is used faster than it can be replaced

Nonrenewable Resource

 water that is not salty, like water found in streams and lakes

Freshwater

 to put harmful materials into the air, water, or soil

 water that is not fresh; this covers about 70 percent of the Earth’s surface

Salt Water

 an area that drains into a common body of water like a river, lake, or ocean

Watershed

 to save or to keep from being destroyed

Preserve

 to create new materials from used products

 nonrenewable resources that are burned to create energy, such as coal, oil, and natural gas which are formed underground from remains of living thingsnatural gas
