Vitamin Intake  How can I increase ALL of my vitamin intake without eating a ton?  What is your favorite healthy food?

Low-Fat  I read in a magazine that “low fat” doesn’t necessarily mean a great thing because that it adds more calories.  What is true?  What is a healthy body fat percentage for female athletes?

Chocolate  Does dark chocolate give you the same high, sugar crash as other sugary foods?  Is dark chocolate really any better for you than milk chocolate?

Healing Foods  Are there foods that heal or having healing properties?  Echinacea – does it work? What is in it?

What is metabolism?  What exactly is it? Why is it different in people?

Fats  What are some more examples of good / healthy fats?  What fat is better – trans or saturated?

Midterm  Will we need to know the chemical configurations for the different types of fat?

 Can you eat too many tomatoes?  Is broiling steak worse for you?

Vitamin D  Do you get enough vitamin D if you use tanning beds?

Junk Food  Is there an amount of junk food (cookies, cupcakes, candy, etc) that is considered okay to eat each day?

Protein  If you are eating a lot of protein each day, but are also eating a lot of carbs, fats, veggies, etc and are also working out about 2 hours a day, could it still be harmful on your body?

Grains  Which kind of white bread is good for you? How can you tell (wheat vs whole wheat bread)?  Is white rice bad for you?

Brain Food  What is a good “brain food”? Is there any food that increases brain activity?

Healthier substitutes  I’ve tried applesauce instead of oil, Splenda instead of sugar and non-fat milk instead of 1% or 2%. For crust though, nothing seems to work as a good substitute, suggestions?

Fiber  Are bran doughnuts a good source of fiber or only good for old people?  Veggies/Fruit – better with skin on or off?

Protein  How much protein is in chicken?  Does chunky peanut butter and creamy have different protein content? Is one healthier?  Does leaner meat have less protein?

Vegetarian Products  What are Morning Star products made of?  What is the point of eating soy?

Milligram vs Microgram vs International Unit  IU – vitamins & drugs 1 IU = 0.3 micrograms or mg  Microgram = metric unit of mass equal to milligram  Milligram = common metric unit of mass = 1,000 micrograms
