Labour market policy Labour market policy in Estonia is implemented by the Labour Market Board and the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund.

Sources of labour market statistics Statistics of registered unemployment Statistics of benefits recipients Labour Force Surveys Other sources (population census, reports of companies, business register, living conditions surveys, labour market surveys etc.)

Labour market data From two sources: Registered statistics Labour Force surveys Registry data: Labour Market Board – data based on registered unemployment Unemployment Insurance Fund – data based on benefits recipients Survey data by Statistical Office of Estonia: Labour Force Surveys

The difference between registry and survey data The numbers of unemployed differ between the Labour Force Survey and the registered statistics Usually, the numbers of unemployed by the Labour Force Survey are about two times higher than the numbers of registered unemployed in Estonia

Statistics by Unemployment Insurance Fund (II) From 1st of May Labour Market Board and Unemployment Insurance Fund are going to be joined. At the beginning there are two separate registers, which later are going to be joined together.

Use of labour market statistics Registered statistics is used for: planning active labour market policy making next year´s budget making employment and unempoyment prognosis making labour policy analyses making reports, reviews (monthly, yearly) organizing press conferences (weekly)

Labour market database (II) The aim of labour market database: repair the availability and usability of data: micro data (based on person and case) for making analyses standard requests and indicators available in the web
